New President At Toshiba America Information Systems

Toshiba America Information Systems (TAIS) has named Mark Simons as the company's new president and CEO. Simons is a 15-year veteran at TAIS, where he helped establish the company's thriving laptop computer business and served as a VP in the digital products division.

In his new role, Simons will oversee digital products, imaging systems, storage devices and telecommunications systems. He succeeds Masa Fukakushi, who bvecomes president and CEO of Toshiba America Inc.

Simons has been a fixture at TAIS and in the channel, where the company's laptops and storage products have built strong momentum. More growth in laptops and small business sales is likely in the future. Jeff Barney, an executive at TAIS for nearly 20 years, is becoming VP and general manager of the digital products division.
