VAR Tapped for Key Post at Juniper

For five years, Philip O'Reilly ran the show as CEO at Solunet, an infrastructure solution provider. Now he's taking on a new job: senior vice president of nterprise sales at networking vendor Juniper Networks.

It's not all that often that the head of  a vendor's channel partner winds up taking a key executive post at that vendor. And heading the enterprise sales organization presents a special challenge in and of itself. However, it does show how channel experience and expertise is becoming intertwined with all aspects of the IT industry.

John Morris, executive VP of worldwide field operations at Juniper, said in a prepared statement that O'Reilly's enterprise and management exerience ":will be a great asset to the company as we continue to deepend the strategic relationships we have." O'Reilly will find himself directing enterprise sales through Juniper's direct and indirect channels and working closely with the executive management team. Before joining Solunet, O'Reilly was CFO of a VoIP services provider. His transition should be an interesting one, and it certainly won't hurt Juniper's overall relationship with channel partners.
